Billyground, June 21: An encroachment was evicted in the Dukenagar village of Gram Panchayat Swadesh Nagar yesterday after the Pradhan of the area registered a written complaint with the Revenue Officials.
As per the complaint of the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Swadesh Nagar, three villagers of Dukenagar, encroached a mass land alongside a rural village road and planted Arecanut Trees as a result of which it became an obstacle for many development projects in the rural village road.
The Pradhan stated in his letter that despite repeated requests all the three villagers refused to surrender the land for the sake of the development of the area.
On complaint, the Tehsildar of the area passed an order to demarcate the land and after the demarcation was done, it was found that nearly 1000 Square meter of land was encroached by the three persons.
It has been learned that the Executive Magistrate, Mayabunder further passed an order of removing the encroachment following which a team of Revenue Department under the supervision of Mr. Gopi, Patwari, Billyground today conducted the encroachment eviction drive and chopped off all nearly 100 Arecanut trees and cleared the entire 1000 Square meter land alongside the rural road.
The work of eviction started yesterday at 9 AM and completed at 4PM. Pradhan and villagers expressed gratitude to the authorities of the Revenue department for taking prompt action against the encroachers.
