Port Blair, June 05: The Chairperson UTCPCR has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India mentioning that due to the lockdown, a new concept of e-education has been introduced by all renowned colleges and schools but the students and parents of Andaman are in deep depression due to non – commencement of High Speed Internet service (CANI – OFC Project).
In his letter Mr. Taranga Kumar Dhali, Chairperson, UTCPCR, A & N Islands further mentioned that around 3000 to 4000 students of this Union Territory had appeared in 12th standard exams and waiting for admission in higher education. All the students’ intent to get admission needs to register for competitive exams and appear the exams, such as JEE, NEET etc.
He said that the students’ community has approached UTCPCR with the parents for enabling the services of high speed internet connectivity. In this regard, all doors of A & N Administration as well as BSNL have been approached but all our efforts in the interest of youth are affected.
“The public is expecting a lot from your governance in the interest of youth of our Union Territory but the students’ community is going in depression. We humbly request your good self kindly intervene in the matter of High Speed Internet Service in A & N Islands as segment 1 and segment 6 is ready for commissioning which will cover 90% of the population of A & N Islands,” the Chairperson, UTCPCR added.
