Port Blair, May 08: On behalf of Bharaitya Janata Party, A & N Islands, Mr. K. Ramdas, State General Secretary-BJP, A & N Islands and Mr. N. K. Udhaya Kumar, State President- BJ Yuva Morcha, A & N Islands today met The Principal Secretary, APWD Mr. Candavelu, IAS as well as Mr. Sudhir Mahajan, IAS, Secretary, Shipping & Power and discussed the issue of acute water crisis. During the discussion the delegates from BJP suggested measures to improve the water source. The suggestions includes activating old water sources inside Municipal Area including Well, Bore wells, Lakes, Ponds etc.; Installation of new bore wells for time being; Separate fund/Package for Gram Panchayats to clean & activate old water sources and to enhance its distribution system; Completion of Rutland Project at earliest; Completion Sweet Water Lake project at earliest; Constructing more Water Treatment Plants and Improving/Building Water Storage Tanks.
