Port Blair, Sep 11: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has requested the Director of Shipping services to press MV Campbell Bay into service at the earliest, which could not be made sea-worthy due to some technical faults.
Mr. Sharma today called on the Director of Shipping Services and urged him that due to shortage of passenger ships, the people of the Islands are suffering very badly as ships are the life-lines for these Islands.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sharma also requested the Director of Shipping to make immediate arrangements to bring the 35 STS buses to Port Blair which are waiting for its shipment at mainland.
“Because of the shortage of STS Busses many routes are running short of busses for which people of the whole Islands are suffering very badly,” Mr Sharma added.
