Port Blair, Sep 11: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President of Pradesh Congress Committee has requested the Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to consider early assessment and release financial relief of the losses incurred by the residents of Port Blair due the heavy rain fall on 6th September, 2012.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, he has stated that, the nonstop rain on 6th September 2012 had brought troubles for the residents of Port Blair and Ferrargunj Tehsil.
“Wall collapse, mudslides incidents have been reported from a number of areas in the city coupled with loss of property and injuries to some residents during the torrential rains,” Mr Sharma added.
Besides these, areas like Mohanpura Market, Gandhi Market, Lambaline, School line, Dollygunj, Pathergudda, Austinabad were flooded with rain water causing heavy damages to the people of the areas.
