Port Blair, Feb 05: On 30/01/2020, a written complaint was received at PS Swaraj Dweep from Shri. Manmato Sarkar regarding theft of 06 Nos. Mobile Phone by some unknown person by broking the locks of his shop “Geeta Mobile” at Govind Nagar No.03, Swaraj Dweep. Upon the complaint, an instant case was registered at PS Swaraj Dweep under relevant section of IPC.
Immediately, a team led by SI. P. C. Manickam, SI. B. Santosh Kumar PC/ Aslam & PC/ Chandan was constituted under Inspector Rahul, SHO PS Swaraj Dweep. The team gathered information through help of CCTV cameras around the area, subsequently 03 juveniles suspect were interrogated by SI. Grace Field, Child Welfare Officer, PS Swaraj Dweep and finally they confessed their guilt and the stolen property were fully recovered. The blind theft case was solved within 04 hours due to stringent efforts made by the team of South Andaman Police.
The entire operation took place under Shri. Abhishek Gupta, SDPO, Swaraj Dweep under the overall direction and supervision of Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
