Port Blair, Sep 06: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC today requested the Lt Governor, Lt General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, to enhance the stipend of hostellers of JNRM, Port Blair and MGGC, Mayabunder from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000 who are facing acute financial hardship to run their mess and daily necessary expenses.
“Due to the price hike of all essential commodities, this has become impossible for them to run the mess with the stipend of Rs. 1000/- per month which they are getting from the AN Administration,” Mr Sharma told the Lt. Governor during a meeting at Raj Niwas. The Lt Governor has given patient hearing and assured to look into the matter.
