Rangat, Jan 22: Since past several weeks patients of Primary Health Centre Rangat was not getting food from the Hospital for which they are facing huge inconvenience.
According to the Up-Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. Alager Swamy the residents of Rangat and adjoining area are deeply disappointed over this issue as for an admitted patient, their family members are now either have to carry food to the hospital trice a day or buy food from market. In a place like Rangat which doesn’t have good public transport system, it becomes very tiresome for family members of admitted patient to run for meal three times a day.
“In many cases now patients are refusing to get admitted. Many patients do not have anyone to run around to manage meals. This is very disappointing and instead of complaints nothing has been done in this regard,” said Miss Prabhabati Biswas, former Adhyaksha of N & M Andaman, Zilla Parishad told Andaman Sheekha over phone.
Meanwhile, talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Up-Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. Alager Swamy has urged the Secretary Health to intervene into this matter and take action against officials who are responsible for this mismanagement.
“This is sad to note that due to negligence of officials and delay in official works patients are not given meals from hospital. This is height of mismanagement,” he said.
It is learnt that now many PRI members of Rangat and nearby area have joined hands to organize a massive protest infront of the PHC Rangat in this issue. The CMO of PHC Rangat could not be reached for a comment in this regard.
