Port Blair, Jan 09: With the aim to curtail down the menace of drugs from these Islands, the Special NDPS team of South Andaman Police has once again proved their efficiency and booked two accused under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 with a recovery of around 4.00 Kgs of Ganja.
A credible information was received regarding possession of huge quantity of ganja by some accused, who were making a deal in front of Dharamshala Marina Park.
The accused reportedly came from Kolkata by flight, a few hours before this, upon this a raiding team led by Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen comprising of ASI Sanjay Yadav, PCs Ashish Mallick, S. Nanak Singh, and M. Raja Rao was constituted, which conducted raid on suspicious person namely Ayub Khan age 45 yrs and Jishu Mazumdar age 23yrs. The team recovered a total of 4.0Kgs of Ganja.
The entire operation took place under leadership of Mr. Ajay Rai, SDPO South Andaman under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
