Port Blair, Dec 23: The Andaman & Nicobar Pollution Control Committee, Department of Science & Technology is conducting raids in premises of many bottling plants against single use plastic items. Thousand of bottles were seized from bottling plant during two recent raids but this is surprising to see that in many Hotels still one liter water bottles are served, against which no such action is taken by the same department.
People related to this field now raise question that how can a government department have two sets of rules and treat some big business houses softly and come down heavily on selected businessmen. “If there is a ban of PET bottles then there should be ban in all kind of PET bottles and in every institution,” the source demanded.
