Mayabunder, Nov 18: Alleged rude attitude of some nursing staffs, shortage of Doctors as well as unavailability of Medicines at RP Hospital, Mayabunder has forced some residents of the area to stage Hunger Strike today in front of the Hospital.
According to reports, dozens of residents of Mayabunder region staged a protest in front of the RP Hospital, Mayabunder today, a few sat on Hunger Strike for not getting basic facilities since a long time.
“Not one, there are numerous problems with everything in this hospital, neither there are sufficient doctors nor required medicines in the hospital,” said Mr Abdul, a resident of the area.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a resident of the area, Mr Johnson said that staffs must be atleast polite when they can’t do much to support us but here some staffs are unbelievably rude, “they never give proper reply,” Mr Johnson added.
As per reports, the hospital even lacks proper X-Ray operators that have added to the woes of the public.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha, a PRI member of the area said that whenever asked the staffs of the hospital about non-availability of medicines, the one and only reply they give is, Directorate of Health Services has not sent the medicines.
“It is the onus of the hospital authorities to have the availability of medicines and if they are not getting proper supply of the medicines they must take up the matter with the DHS but rather than doing this, the staffs of the hospital avoid answering us,” said the PRI member.
However, due to the absence of the District and Assistant Commissioner of the region, the Tehsildar of the area came to the spot and quelled the anger of the public by assuring them to sort out their problems at the earliest.
The entire protest was organized under the leadership of Pradhan, Baludera, Mr Jayasheelan.
