Port Blair, Oct 30: As per the provisions contained in Andaman & Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant-in-aid to Local Cultural Organizations, applications from interested Cultural Organizations, functioning in A&N Islands to promote activities connected with Art & Culture, National Integration, Communal Harmony, Brotherhood etc were invited for financial assistance by the Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration. The Cultural Organizations were asked to send their applications giving the relevant details with supporting documents. In response, 14 Cultural Associations from South Andaman District only submitted their applications.
All the applications received from Cultural Associations were scrutinized by the Scrutiny Committee on the basis of the supporting documents, which include audited statement for the year 2018-19, Annual Report for the year 2018-19, Utilization Certificate and supporting documents for the previous grants.
The Committee, after examining the details of activities undertaken by the Cultural associations, recommended to release GIA @ Rs.25,000/- each to the following 14 Local Cultural Associations.

- NAACH, Academy of Performing Arts, Lambaline, Port Blair In this connection, this Directorate of Art & Culture has invited claims, objections or suggestions against the above said list within a period of 7 days from the date of publication of this notice. The Objections/suggestions if any could be sent to the Director (Art & Culture), Cellular Jail Complex, Atlanta Point, Port Blair within the stipulated period. The list of Cultural Organizations shall be finalized after considering the objections and suggestions, if any.
