Port Blair, Oct 18: The Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration with the support of Kala Kendra Society is organizing Andaman Literature Fest from Oct. 22 to 24, 2019 from 10.00 am to 5 p.m. in the Conference Hall of Megapode Resort, Haddo.The Department has invited a range of authors from mainland with writings from different genres like popular fiction, mystery & horror novels, travel writings, illustrated books on nature and natural beauty of which the islands has a rich heritage. The Department has also invited children book authors to engage with the primarily young audience for the festival. The three days festival will have Book Reading Sessions, Writing Workshops, Panel Discussions on different writing genres with these authors. There will be interactions with the audience after every session. A poetry session of poets of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has also been planned during the fest. Five mainland authors will grace the festival. They include Ms. Kiran Manral, A TEDx Speaker, Columnist, Mentor with Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk 2017 and festival Curator, Shri Rohan, a Cartoonist and Illustrator and the creator of Green Humour, Ms Bijal Vachharajani, Editor, Scissorhands at Pratham Books and a Journalist, Ms. Debeshi Gooptu, a Business Journalist turned Author, who lives and works in Gurgaon, Ms. Sejal Mehta, a Writer, Editor and Content Consultant.The Department has invited all literati to come in order to appreciate eminent authors and poets from mainland and the islands respectively.
