Port Blair, Aug 26: Mr. Janardan Dwivedi, General Secretary, AICC infused renewed energy in the party ranks, educating them on the grand old party’s rich ideology and time-tested policies that have made it the country’s most-elected party since independence.
During the function organized in his honour at Gandhi Bhawan the visiting Rajya Sabha MP recalled the contributions of Smt. Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister who worked tirelessly for the development of the country.
“Smt. Indira Gandhi advocated that our country should always be self dependent,” he said.
He also recalled the contributions of Pt. Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, also known as the architect of modern India, in the development of the country. Highlighting the party’s age-old tradition of preparing to govern with definite policies and programs based on the strong ideological groundwork, Mr. Dwivedi continued that it was this invincible practice that has returned the party to power, time and again.
“Gandhiji had devised the winning strategy of Panchayati Raj Institutions among the rest, well before the independence, which has helped the country’s overall growth manifold, in the post-independence scenario”, said the seasoned politician, who has had a noteworthy political career of fifty five years.
This was Congress lead Government whose brain child was Nationalization of Banks, covering the whole Country with irrigation system and introducing of various Employment Schemes besides many other plans which has brought our Nation to one of the most developed Nation in the world
A man of letters, Mr Dwivedi accused the BJP of ideological bankruptcy saying that in the absence of definite policies and programs in the current state of affairs, the opposition has been sheepishly resorting to distractions in multifarious forms, in a bid to look reasonable.
Responding to the issues concerning the limited medical seats for the islands’ students, pathetic condition of the employees of the ANIFPDCL and the unholy conduct of the former Congress MP during the last elections resulting in the loss of the party by a mere narrow margin, cited by the PCC General Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Ali, the AICC General Secretary.
The AICC General Secretary had many words of appreciation for the PCC Chief Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma whom he described as a youth icon with immense leadership qualities. The AICC General Secretary recorded his faith on Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma and told the gatherings that through his dynamic leadership, love for the downtrodden, ambition to give a good governance for the people of the islands and desire to give all round development in these beautiful Islands, the strong personality of Kuldeep will sweep away the present chaos and unnecessary unrest created by a particular Party in AN Islands in the election of 2014 and then people of these Islands will have all round peace, prosperity and healthy atmosphere. Mr. Dwivedi wrapped up for the day saying, “The resentment resulting out of the previous defeat in the constituency, will prove to be the winning factor for us in the coming elections.”
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has handed over him the memorandum on various burning issues and earnestly to take care of these issue to which Mr.Dwivedi has given his asurance. Sri Md Ali, General Secretary, ANTCC had welcomed the Chief Guest and others present in the meeting, vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Manikkam while Sri MZ Siddiqui had conducted the meeting.
