Port Blair, Sept 04: To promote Road Safety, Traffic Police (A&N I Police) conducts Road Safety awareness classes in the schools of Port Blair City. During the month of August, 2019 lectures on Road Safety were delivered by traffic police at different schools i.e. (i) Govt. Primary School, Haddo (Telugu Medium), (ii) Govt. Model Primary School, (iii), Govt. Primary School, Haddo (Hindi Medium), (iv) Govt. Sr. Sec. School, School Line, (v) Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Bathu Basthi and (vi) Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Garacharma and in Govt. Departments i.e. PBMC and Van Sadan. A total of 800 school students and 300 department personnel were educated on traffic rules and regulations and were also familiarized with the New Motor Vehicle Amendment Act, 2019. All were cautioned to be more careful and follow the traffic rules and regulations for their own safety.
A&NI Traffic Police will be conducting more such Road Safety Awareness programmes in schools and other departments to create awareness on traffic rules and regulations. Interested parties may request a visit by calling 03192-243812.
