Port Blair, Aug 29: A major land sliding was reported from Danapur area, behind the Pokadera Panchayat Bhavan. This land sliding occurred 27 August 2019 and the residential houses of Mr. Arunmugam has been totally collapsed. Mr. Shyamlal, Samity Member of Pakadera Gram Panchayat placed this issue infrontof DC North and Middle Andaman and pointed out that Mr. Arumagam and his family members are now homeless. They have to take shelter in their neighbour’s house.
He also pointed out that if immediate steps are not initiated in this regard then it may put other houses in that area in danger.
The Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar has assured that official will pay a visit to the site and after receiving the report essential steps will be initiated at the earliest.
