Port Blair, June 27: The procedure for Public Hearing by Hon’ble Lt. Governor has been refined for facilitating the residents suffering from ailments, old age citizens, elderly woman, those with employment related problems and islanders residing in outer Islands/hinterland, all who have been finding it difficult so far to appear before the Hon’ble Lt. Governor in person during Public Hearing Sessions at Raj Niwas.
To overcome their inconveniences, a Live Phone Public Hearing System is now functional, which enables residents to represent/communicate their grievances directly to Hon’ble Lt Governor, without having to appear in person.
The representations/ grievances mentioning verifiable contact number and address of the petitioner, along with copy of valid identity card and any supporting documents may be submitted at LG’s Secretariat Raj Niwas, as hithertofore, for the Live phone Public Hearing. This can be done at any time convenient to the applicant through:
- Delivery by hand at Raj Niwas Gate Reception (receipt will be provided), or
- On email ID: lg.and@nic.in, or
- Fax No: 03192-230372, or
- By post/couriers addressed to LG’s Secretariat, Raj Niwas, Port Blair – 744101 (Andaman & Nicobar Islands).
The petitioners whose representations are received by the specified date and time are contacted by LG’s Secretariat on the telephone numbers provided in their representations and connected to Hon’ble Lt. Governor directly for communication of their grievances. All such calls are recorded for processing the subject matter of the grievance with the concerned departments for final resolution, which is subsequently communicated to the petitioners.
The specific cases necessitating appearing in person will continue to be dealt separately, as hithertofore.
The next Live Phone Public Hearing will be held on 09.07.2019 from 1100 hrs to 1230 hrs. In addition to applications already received, all requests received till 1700 hrs on 08.07.2019 will be processed during this session.
