Port Blair, Jun 26: National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) Port Blair branch celebrated National Seafarers Day 2019 in TSG Emerald, Phoenix Bay.
National Seafarers day is organized to appreciate the efforts, sacrifice and service of Maritime Seafarers onboard vessels under MS Act, 1958.
On the occasion Mr. Kaushik, TCI Managing Director Port Blair and Mr. Ashokan, Board of Director, MAK were Chief Guests.
On the Occasion Mr. Dharvinder Ram, Branch representative Port Blair welcomed the Guest and highlighted achievements of NUSI and further said that for Andaman, shipping is the lifeline for islanders,
Mr. Dharvinder Ram NUSI in this address said that NUSI is presently planning for its own building and the proposed site is at Delanipur, which is accessible to all seafarers. He said that the new office with not involve in any other commercial activity than running a canteen for seafarers like Defence and Police canteens.
