Port Blair, June 26: A group of villagers of remote Laxmipur village, North Andaman today staged road block and dharna against indiscriminate power cuts in the region.
The villagers alleged that there is no schedule for power cuts in the area and often the villages from Laxmipur to Hati Level witness 12 to 18 level power cuts in a day.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha that Pradhan of Laxmipur village, Mr.Sujan Kumar Das alleged that the JE of the area along with some permanent staffs of the department, is working against the public of the region.
As per details the road block began at 8.30 am and ended at around 2.00 PM after officials of Electricity Department assured to provide power regularly in the area.
