Hut Bay, May 19: The Little Andaman petrol pump run by ANIIDCO has become a constant source of harassment for people of the Island.
According to reports, irregular fuel supply to the petrol pump by a private party, is the main reason behind this.
The Island is presently reeling under serious fuel crisis and one can see nearly 2 km long queue of vehicles, waiting for refueling.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that some days back nearly 150 drums of fuel were sent to Hut Bay by the private party but for that proper permission was not taken from PMB, which delayed in supply of fuel.
The 150 drums of fuel reportedly finished within 10 days and again nearly 100 drums of fuel sent to Hut Bay, which is again about to finish.
Officials of ANIIDCO were unavailable for a comment in this regard.
Residents of Little Andaman are now demanding that the ANIIDCO must ensure timely supply of fuel in Little Andaman Islands because every fuel crisis, is disturbing normal life in the Island.
