Port Blair, May 16: A Pawan Hans Helicopter today made an emergency landing at Chidiyatapu helipad because of unfavourable weather conditions.
According to reports the helicopter was coming towards Port Blair from Kamorta Island of Nicobar group via Car Nicobar. Due to bad weather the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Chidiyatapu Helipad instead of Port Blair Heliport, considering the safety of public.
Sources said that the Assistant Commissioner of Car Nicobar was also travelling in the Helicopter along with other passengers. Later a team of PS Pahargaon along with PCR staffs dropped all the passengers to Port Blair via vehicles. No one suffered any injury in this incident.
The Police team, who helped passengers, consists of SI Dinesh Meena, SI Sazi Mathew, ASI Radha Krishnan, PS Pahar Gaon and HC Lucky Verma, PC SK Tiwari and HG Driver Ganesh Murty.
