Port Blair, Apr 07: Pahargaon Police Station, in its crackdown against illicit liquor and drugs has recovered 358 Kg of Handiya and 530 gram Ganja. In these cases, three persons have been arrested.
On 04/04/19, a special drive was conducted in Austinabad area by the team of PS Pahargaon consisting of ASI R. Radha Krishna, PCs Khokan Dutta, Rajesh Prasad, Ashok Kumar & Sunitha of PS Pahargaon under the command of Inspr A. K. Singh SHO Pahargaon. During the drive, a case was registered with recovery of 358 Kgs of Illicit handiya and two persons namely Sunil Kullu S/o Late Karlus Kullu, (39) yrs Basthi and Korathenus Kujur S/o Late Ignus Kujur, (60)yrs both R/o Austinabad Basthi were arrested.
Thereafter on 05.04.2019, on receipt of credible information, a raiding team under the command of SHO Pahargaon, Insp. A. K. Singh, alongwith SI Shubham Ghosh, ASI R Radha Krishnan, PCs Ashok Kumar, Khokan Dutta, Rajesh Prasad, Manoj Kr. Yadav and Sunitha conducted raid at Corbyn Chowk and recovered about 530 gram of Illicit ganja from the possession of Sathis Chandra Bera S/o Late Bhupati Charan Bera, (34)yrs R/o Vill: Mirja Nagar, Purba Medinapur, West Bengal presently staying at Bathu Basthi, Port Blair.
All these operations took place under the close supervision of SDPO (SA) Mr. Nishant Gupta assisted by SHO Pahargaon under the overall supervision of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
The general public is requested to share information with Police in full confidence so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice and may pass such information to 100, 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-232400. The identity of the informer will be kept secret, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District said in a press release.
