Baratang, Oct 07: Due to sudden breakdown of vehicle ferry MV North Bay on Friday evening, which was plying in Middle Strait, the movement of vehicle across the Middle Strait, suffered a major hit.
In absence of MV North Bay only one ferry M V Mus was operation and because of this reason ferrying of vehicles, from Middle Strait Jetty to Nilambur Jetty and vise-versa, took long long time.
According to reports till night 9.30 PM MV Mus ferried vehicles from one port to the other, which certainly made ATR journey awful, for many travellers.
The Police Department however showed tremendous efforts to manage stranded vehicles at Middle Strait and Nilambur area till night.
However, arrival of MV Austin IV from Kadamtala at 9.00 AM this morning, brought a big relief for ATR commuters and also the police team of Baratang.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that MV North Bay which engine breakdown at 5.00 PM on Friday was taken to Port Blair this morning at 11.00 AM for repair.
