Port Blair, Oct 05: The Association of Andaman Tour Operators (AATO) today demanded to make the ticketing system for Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail and Ross Islands manual and also demanded revisal of rates for tickets of these shows.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Mr. M Vinod, the President of AATO said that the present system of online booking of tickets is creating lots of problems to the stakeholders and visiting tourists due to connectivity problem and also it has a provision of accepting transaction of Rs 2,000/ only at a time.
He said that the AATO had requested to revise the increased ticket rates of these shows as it became very difficult for everyone to understand the logic behind three different ticket rates for the same show.
He said that the rates were increased all of a sudden without consulting the stakeholders.
PM bats for digital India, whereas some vested people wants to go other way, because transparency in digital format becomes a hindrance and tour operators with flexed muscles can take larger share.
