Port Blair, June 11: The passengers travelling to Chennai in Vistara Airlines today at 10.55 AM flight had a horrible time this afternoon, when they were informed that their flight could not land because of some reasons and has return back.
Passengers talking to Andaman Sheekha said that the Airlines Staffs instead of providing another aircraft or providing a proper solution to this problem, asked many passengers to take refund and make their own arrangements for reaching Chennai, which left many passengers fuming.
Angry passengers later demanded accommodation and tickets in next aircraft to Chennai. A few passengers have also reportedly called up Member of Parliament and Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman and demanded their intervention.
Later, nearly by 7.30 PM passengers were informed that they will be provided tickets from tomorrow morning flight and also dinner tonight. Till last report poured in, several passengers were waiting at Airport for confirmed ticket for tomorrow morning’s flight.
“They have not provided us any accommodation till now, therefore today we might have to spend night sitting on Airport Chairs. We are going for treatment in Mainland and such treatment by Airlines Company is not expected,” said a passenger, who does not want his name to be quoted. Vistara Staffs were unreachable for a comment in this regard.
However, people attached to aviation field confirmed that the Vistara Airlines flight today tried level best to land at Port Blair airport but for some unfavourable weather conditions it had to return back.
