Port Blair, July 03: The announcement of BSNL to carry out Load Shedding in Broadband connection has triggered mixed reaction in city. While many are delighted to see that broadband connection is giving decent speed others are crying foul, saying this is not the solution to the problem.
Though the move to shed load of Broadband has brought some relief for Broadband users but the schedule of this load shedding has yet not been made public, leaving public totally confused.
However, since last few days whenever customers are able to access Broadband connection they are able to surf net and download data, without much trouble, although uploading of data still remain an impossible task.
Cyber Cafe operators, travel agents and other businessmen who rely on internet for business are badly hit.
Those who are opposing this move demand reduction in Broadband bills in equal proportion. “For example for unlimited Broadband plan they are charging huge sum of money. Instead of giving best service they are resorting to load shedding. In this case they must reduce the bills also,” said an angry customer of Junglighat.
Many believe that this quick fix solution won’t give long term relief to Islanders and hence the BSNL must ask for more bandwidth from headquarter for Andaman and Nicobar Region. Hopefully the BSNL will soon come up with full proof strategy to restore the Broadband Service and till now the BSNL will atleast public a schedule of Broadband load shedding.
