Port Blair, Nov 22: Bal Sabha interface meetings were organized for Butterflies’ children of South & Little Andaman with their respective Samiti Pramukh. At Hutbay, Butterflies children met with their Samiti Pramukh Mrs. Seema Sarkar on 14.11.17 while in South Andaman children met with Samiti Pramukh Mr. Sandeep & Block Development Officer Mr. Rajendra on 21.11.17 in Ferrargunj Samiti Office. In South Andaman, the children came from Tapu Basti, Laal Bijan, Namunaghar, Guptapara, Laal Pahard & Attam Pahard. Children shared their issues prevalent in their villages, school & community such as lack of maintenance of Anganwadi buildings, irregular service of STS buses, inactive youth Clubs, facilities in schools etc. Children identified these issues during their ‘Bal Sabhas’ within Butterflies’ centers, following which they held interface meetings with their village Pradhans, Police officials, NYK state coordinator, STS transport Officer & lastly with Samiti Pramukh & BDO.
Samiti Pramukh & BDO noted children’s issues intently & assured quick action on these issues wherever possible. Along with Pramukh & BDO, the meeting was attended by Samiti Members, Namunaghar Panchayat Pradhan Mrs. Pratima Kumari, Butterflies Program Manager Mr. Sino P.Kurian & Butterflies Field Coordinator Ms. Latika Singh.
