Port Blair, Nov 10: As the utilization of fuel is increasing in the City day by day, the Indian Oil Corporation, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has requested the Andaman Administration for a 25 Hectare land in the city for their expansion.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha recently, the Chief Terminal Manager, IOC, Mr Prakash Tiru said that looking into the needs of fuel in the coming future it’s a high need that IOC have to expand its infrastructure and therefore the IOC has already approached the Andaman Administration requesting for atlest 25 Hectare Land.
“Such a big land is necessary for loading facility, Tankers facility and as the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) do have some guidelines like distance between tanks and certain distance from each wall etc which has to be followed, such a big land is required,” Mr Tiru said.
Mr Prakash further said that the Andaman Administration is very positive and is helping IOC in all possible ways but due to certain reasons the land which the IOC finalized, had certain issues and now again both IOC and Andaman Administration will start the process of searching another Land.
