Neil Island, Nov 10: In a daring act, Neil Police Unit today rescued a Drifting Dinghy and two Dinghy operators. As per reports, the Dinghy started from Sippighat to Neil Island this morning at around 06:00 AM but at 08:30 AM when the Dinghy was close to the Neil Island it developed Technical Snags, following which the Dinghy started Drifting.
Sources said that inclement weather was the reason behind the technical snag that developed in the Dinghy. According to sources two men those were in the Dinghy immediately after getting some signal in the Mobile anyhow contacted the owner of the Dinghy and informed him about the matter.
The matter was then immediately reported to the Coast Guard and the Neil Police Unit. Taking immediate step in this regard a team of Neil Police Unit headed by Sub-Inspector Biwajeet and his team immediately hired a private boat namely White Sand and even in the inclement weather went on search of the drifting boat under the overall supervision of the Station House Officer, Neil Police Unit.
As per sources, after a search of more than half an hour the Dinghy was sighted by the team of Neil Police Unit following which the team immediately went next to the Dinghy and towed the Dinghy to Neil Jetty.
Sources said that a cargo of One Ton Rod, River Sand, Water Bottles and ration articles were loaded in the Dinghy. Brave efforts of the Neil Police Unit were appreciated by public as in this case, they reached the Dinghy before the Coast Guard.
