Diglipur, Nov 10: A miscreant made an unsuccessful attempt to loot an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of State Bank of India in Diglipur area yesterday night.As per the sources the Investigators retrieved CCTV footage where a person could be seen entering inside ATM room wearing gunny sack who later covered the ATM with cloth. The miscreant later tried to break open the first ATM but failed. Two more ATMs in which one is CDR machine were intact. The police has reportedly asked to keep the ATMs closed for two more days till the investigation continues. As per fresh details, ATM shutter is down since morning .The public already felt the heat as the prime ATM of the SBI has been kept closed. People can be seen in queue at ANSCB and Axis bank ATMs. Tomorrow is the second Saturday and the next day being Sunday the banks will be closed. Tomorrow heavy down pours was also reported from the area. SP North Andaman and Asst Commissioner Diglipur visited the spot. The police department is investigating the matter further. This is the 3rd such attempt in the same Bank. On 16th July some miscreants tried to enter into this bank by making a hole on the back door but they failed after they found a grill door. On 24th March 2016 also three to four masked men broke inside the same bank in late night hours but they could not crack the locker. No arrest has been made in all the three matters.
