Port Blair, Oct 27: In order to ensure zero tolerance against contraband tobacco, the in-charge JPP Jirkatang SI Sreenivasan along with HC Samson Topno while conducting search at Jirkatang Check Post on 17/10/2017, recovered 400 pouches Bhagban 69 Brand Tobacco from the possession of Mr. Abhijit Nandi R/o Bakultala and on 20/10/2017 HC Samson Topno alongwith PC A.P. Tiwari of OP Mile Tilak recovered 150 pouches of Bhagban 69 brand tobacco from the possession of Mr. Paresh Ch. Baroi R/o Kalighat Bazaar at Jirkatang check post. Tiwari of OP Mile Tilak recovered 150 pouches of Bhagban 69 brand tobacco from the possession of Mr. Paresh Ch. Baroi R/o Kalighat Bazaar at Jirkatang check post. All the recovered tobaccos were handed over to Food Safety Officers for further legal action. The General Public is requested to inform about any such activities or any illegal activities to the Police on Phone No.100 (PCR) or respective Police Stations on 03192-232400 (PS Aberdeen), 250525 (PS Pahargaon), 232232(PS Chatham), 258411 (PS Bamboo Flat), 224934 (PS Ograbraj), 287590 (PS Humfrygunj), 282405 (PS Havelock), 284208 (PS Hut Bay) and 282602 (PS Neil Island). Identity of informer shall be kept secret.
