Port Blair, Oct 27: In an attempt to simplify and improve the delivery of services, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration Shri Anindo Majumdar launched the School Recognition Module (SRM) for all private aided/unaided/local body schools during a function held in the Mini Conference Hall of Secretariat today. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Secretary stressed upon the importance of transparency and timely delivery of services. He also lauded the efforts made by the Department of Education in this regard. The Secretary (Education), Ms Tanvi Garg, Deputy Director Education (Admin) Shri Shubhankar Ghosh and the Spl. Secretary (IT), A&N Administration Dr. Utpal Sharma were also present on the occasion.
At the outset, the Secretary (Education) gave a brief outline of the process followed in the SRM for inviting online applications for school recognition.
Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director Education (Planning) made a presentation on the advantages / benefits of School Recognition Module over the existing manual system. The System is also integrated with SMS service for sending SMS alerts on application status (Approval/Rejection) to applicants.
The SRM has been designed and developed by DBRAIT with the inputs provided by the Directorate of Education.
