Port Blair, Oct 22: Keeping its commitment of zero tolerence against illegal activities, the staff of PS CCS conducted a raid near Sub Post Office, Dollygunj on 19/10/2017 and apprehended 08 gamblers namely 1) Wasim Ahmed, 2) Mohan Kumar, 3) Jeevan Das R/o Dollygunj, 4) Ganesh Ram, 5) Ashok Kumar Baruwa, 6) Salam, 7) S. Samual Raju all R/o Dollygunj and 8) Ramabhadran R/o BathuBastiwho were involved in gambling. An amount ` 51,010 (Rupees fifty one thousand ten only) including stake money & personal search money has been recovered from the spot. They were challaned under the Andaman & Nicobar Gambling Regulation.
Acting on a specific information received from reliable source that one ShahidRustum R/o Brichgunj is arriving at Port Blair from Chennai by ‘Go Air’ flight on 20/10/2017 and he is possession of huge quantity of Ganja. A Police team led by SI Deepak Mukherjee rushed to VSI Airport and laid a trap near arrival parking area of Airport. The team intercepted the person on the identification of informer and on checking, the Police team recovered about 2.170 Kg Ganja from the possession of one ShahidRustum S/o Shri Rustum Ali (27) R/o Brichgunj near Plaza Saloon which was seized after observing all codal formalities. Accused ShahidRustam S/o Shri Rustam Ali (27) R/o Brichgunjnear Plaza Saloon was arrested U/s 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act and a case was registered against him at PS CCS. Both operations were conducted under the close supervision of Shri M. K. Shukla, Dy. SP (CID).
