Port Blair, June 27: A fire accident was reported from a type III government quarter of Goalghar area, this evening.
According to reports available here, the fire was reported from a main switch board of the government quarter, which is situated behind Hotel Andaman Residency.
The matter was reported to the Fire Brigade at 5:47pm and immediately two fire tenders, one each from Fire Service Head Quarter and Marine Fire Station, were rushed to the spot.
However, the fire was controlled before arrival of fire tenders by public, who switched off the main board. According to sources no casualty or damage has been reported.
