Port Blair, June 27: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee met with the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest today and explained to him the problems and difficulties faced by the inhabitant of North Andaman in absence of road from Bhadur Tikri to Gandhi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar to Ganesh Nagar, Kishori Nagar to Paschim Sagar, Kalighat to Jagan Nath Dera and Wright Myo to Shoel Bay in South Andaman.
These areas are fallen under the reserve forest and APWD authorities require clearance from the forest Department to construct roads.
The PCCF appreciated the problems and assured to take up the matter with the concern Ministry of Govt. of India for the decision at the earliest.
Mr. Sharma has also brought the problems of non issuing of sand permit due to which the general public is suffering as the cost of sand per truck of the mainland is about eighteen Thousand. Mr. Sharma emphasize upon him to issue the sand permit with out any further delay.
