Port Blair, Aug 30: The Police Training School, A&N Islands has organized a three days course on “Immigration Procedures, Regulation of Tourism and Role of Tourist Police” from 21st – 23rd August, 2017 for in-service Police personnel from the rank of PC to Inspector under the overall supervision of Smt. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, PTS. The main objective of the course is to inculcate awareness regarding laws & procedure related to immigration & tourist security and other relevant issues to enable them to perform their duties effectively. During the training programme Shri M.Krishnamachari, Director, Islands Institute of Skill Development, Smt. Rasheeda Iqbal, Directorate of Art & Culture, Smt. Rabiya Bibi, Manager Tourism, IP&T and well experienced Police Officer of Immigration & other units including faculty members of PTS, Prothrapur have delivered impressive and informative lectures on various topics like, an overview of Tourist Safety Enforcement Team (TSET), Tourist friendly behaviour, immigration functions at airport/seaport and visit of foreign luxury liner/yatch and guidelines to issue Restricted Area Permit (RAP), types of Passports/VISA, regulation of tourism & role of local Police on arrival of tourists, legal provisions to deal with Foreigners Do’s & Don’t for foreign/domestic tourists and Police, etc. Altogether, 30 Police personnel of various Police Stations, Traffic Branch and Tourist Police had participated in the training programme. The course was coordinated by SI D.K.Seal, PTS under the supervision of Shri. K. Michal Raj, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS.
