
Port Blair, Aug 30: Andaman Film Makers’ Association today felicitated Mr. Naresh Chandra Lal, Padmashree Awardee, Member of CBFC and Swachh Bharat Ambassador for his all recent achievements and contributions to the local theater and film industry, during a function organized at Shompen Hotel Port Blair, this morning. In his keynote address, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Roy, local journalist and General Secretary of Andaman Film-Makers’ Association (AFMA) requested all local film makers to unite and work in close association to reduce cost of film production and to make film making a profitable business in Andaman. ‘Until and unless we make film making, economically viable no one will come forward for Film Making in Andaman in coming future,” he said.
In his speech, Mr. Naresh Chander Lal expressed his idea on film making and thanked all the local film makers and journalists. Addressing media he said media is crucial in film making field. Mr. Lal said that his aim is to make Andaman a film making destination where every month atleast one film maker should reach for shooting, which will generate jobs for local artists. He said that to achieve any goal patience and hard work is must. Further he said, the film maker should put more efforts and should take the film industry to national level. Senior Journalist Mr. K. Ganeshan who was also present during the programme as special guest said that A&N administration never provides support to the public, especially artists and hence he requested all local film makers to make group and take initiatives instead of waiting for Administration’s support.
