Port Blair, Aug 24: The Office of the Deputy Education Officer, WImberlygunj organized a Zonal Level Science Seminar on the topic “Swachh Bharat: Role of Science and Technology- Promises and Challenges” on 23rd August, 2017 in their premises. The Students Science Seminar is a regular programme organized by the Science wing of Department of Education, A & N Administration in collaboration with the National Council of Science Museum, BITM, Kolkatta, Govt. of India to inculcate the spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking. The Students Science Seminar is a regular programme organized by the Science wing of Department of Education, A & N Administration in collaboration with the National Council of Science Museum, BITM, Kolkatta, Govt. of India to inculcate the spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking. Inaugurating the Seminar, Shri GyansheelDubey, Deputy Education Officer remembered the achievements of WImberlygunj Educational Zone in different fields including Academic, Sports & Cultural activities during the past few years. He expressed happiness over the brilliant response from the students who enthusiastically participated in the programme. Altogether 10 schools under the Wimberlygunj Educational Zone including Govt./Aided/Un-Aided schools participated in the seminar. The students presented their views on the topic through Power Point slides as well as Charts. Ms. M.Pooja from Crescent Sr. Sec. School and Ms. Mini Franklin of Vitala Public School were selected for participating in the State Level Seminar to be organized at Port Blair on 7th September, 2017. While giving away the prizes to the winners, Shri Mohammed Irshad Ahmed, Assistant Director(Sports) encouraged the efforts made by the students and their teachers for making the seminar a successful one and motivated the winners to further improve their performance while representing the zone at State Level. Smt. Girija Rani, Vice Principal, GSSS Mannarghat and Smt. ManimalaHalder, Vice Principal, GSS Shoal-Bay12 were the judges during the conduct of the seminar.
