Port Blair, Aug 24: 41 Armed Forces officers attending the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) at College of Defence Management (CDM), accompanied by Port Blair, Aug 24: 41 Armed Forces officers attending the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) at College of Defence Management (CDM), accompanied by Brigadier JS Rajpurohit, Head of Faculty CDM visited Andaman & Nicobar Command from 23 to 27 Aug 17. College of Defence Managementis a premier tri-service institution imparting higher management training to officers of the rank of Colonel in Army and of equivalent ranks in Navy and Air Force. On successful completion of the course, theparticipants are awarded Masters in Management Studies from Osmania University, Hyderabad. During the visit the course officer were familiarised with the unique aspects of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and innovative infrastructure development, so that future military leadership remains sensitive to civil security, development, ecology and environmental concerns. The course officers were briefed at the Command Headquarters and also by the respective Components. The officers also visited various defence establishments at other Islands apart from Port Blair. These future military leaders with their effective decision making and efficient resource management skills will play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of the Armed Forces. This visit will allow them the opportunity to further develop their knowledge base and provide an insight to the strategic importance of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
