Port Blair, May 31: The Councillor of Birchgunj Village, Mrs Vaishali Rani Dayal today honoured the Commerce Stream Topper of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Susma Kumari, a resident of her village.
The Commerce Stream topper was awarded with a cash of Rs 2000 from the Councillor.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mrs Vaishali said that it is a proud moment for entire Birchgunj Villagers that a girl from village has topped the 12th Class.
She said that the girl has to go through a very tough time to achieve this success. Mrs Vaishali said that few years back when father of the girl died, the family of the girl had a very tough time.
Mrs Vaishali said that her mother didn’t receive the pension for almost a year and she didn’t even get any job. Even though after facing so much of difficulties her mother encouraged her daughters to study, thus it’s a very proud moment for her mother too.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Commerce Stream topper, Sushma Kumari said that she studied for 10-12 hours a day by completely following her time table which is the reason behind her results.
She said that the support from the family and teachers played a very important role in her achievement.
