Port Blair, Apr 20: Together with the rest of the country, Fire Service Week commencing from 14th to 20th April 2017 was observed in Fire Station, Mayabunder.
During this week a series of programme which included lecture and demonstration on use of first aid fire fighting equipments were carried out in vulnerable locations like the Indira Memorial Panchayat Market, BSNL Office, MB, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Fisheries Deptt., Govt. Secondary School Webi, Zilla Parishad Office apart from inspection of hazardous location on fire safety aspect.
As a part of the programme a sit and draw competition was organized amongst the school students in which 25 students participated. Prizes were distributed on the concluding day of the programme on 20th April, 2017 in Fire Station, Mayabunder.
The week was successfully observed with the plan chalked out by the Station Officer Fire Station, Mayabunder Shri Bapi Chowdhury and assisted by HC Ramanand under the supervision of Inspector Fire Brigade, Mayabunder Shri Edwin Fernandez.
