Port Blair, Apr 20: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank has inaugurated its’ Modernised All Women Bank Branch at Garacharma-II on 19th April, 2017.Shri. Hament Bhasker Songadkar, General Manager, NABARD, Port Blairwas the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was also attendedamong others by Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman, Cooperative Bank, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, ANSCB, Smt. Saraswati Narayan, Ex-Pradhan, Bank Officials and a large gathering of local residents ofthe area.
Welcoming the delegates, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director (MD)has informed that ANSCB, Garacharma II has added one more feather toits banking fold by the inauguration of its Modernised All Womenbranch for the people. He further informed that ANSCB, Garacharma IIhad commenced its banking services in the year 2001. The branch has a deposit of Rs. 19.00 Crores and advances of Rs. 8.00 Crore. He alsourged all the general public to come forward and avail ATM services of
the bank. He also asked the general public to be cautious with theirATM Pin and other details and urged all the customers not to revealtheir card and Pin details to anyone.

In his address, Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman requested the augustgathering present there to propagate the various schemes of Govt. of India/Administration like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Scheme among the bank customers andvillagers. He also emphasised that the Modernised branch isfunctioning under the CBS platform and recording each and everyfinancial transaction digitally without any human error, ensuring theperfect recording of the transaction. He urged all the people of thearea to come forward and open their Savings A/c with the Bank andavail the benefits of ATM. He has informed the people present on the
occasion that the ANSCB is issuing instant Rupay Debit cards which areassessable in ATMs of all banks and the ATM cards of all banks area ccessable in ANSCB ATM.
The Chief Guest Shri. Hament Bhaskar Songadkar, General Manager, NABARD in his key note address appreciated and expressed his wholehearted thanks to A & N State Coop. Bank in inviting him as the Chief Guest for the Inaugural function of the All Women branch. Heinformed that the main motive of NABARD is “Reaching to the unreachedin time bound manner at an affordable rate”. He further informed thatA & N State Coop. Bank is rendering its banking services through its
41 Core Banking branches across the Island, which is one of thegreatest achievements. The NABARD has set up Financial LiteracyCentres at Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Chouldari, Hut Bay, Nancowry & Campbell Bay in association with Coop. Bank to spread financialawareness across the Island. He also informed that NABARD has set upPACS Development Cell in Cooperative Bank to strengthen theCooperative structure. At the end, he conveyed his best wishes to theManagement of A & N State Coop. Bank for the commencement of anInnovative All Women Branch, which is first of its kind in A & NIslands.
