Port Blair, 09 : The staff including 38 Officers attending the 29thNaval Higher Command Course and the Directing Staff of the Naval War College visited Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 06 to 08 Apr 17.
Naval War College is located at INS Mandovi, Verem, Goa and is a premier Naval Training Institution which conducts prestigious Naval Higher Command Course. The course aims to train selected middle level senior officers of the Indian Navy and other Armed Forces, in the higher decision making, Strategy and Operations.
The course participants and staff were briefed on the strategic dimensions of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands during their visit to the Command Headquarters, Naval Component and the Army Component. They also visited Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) and Floating Dock Navy (FDN) at Port Blair. During the visit they were exposed to the multi-faceted, unique and strategic aspects of these islands. The environmental and ecological sensitivities of the Islands were also focused upon, such that future military leadership remains sensitive to the security as well as development issues in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
