Port Blair, Apr 09: World Health day 2017 was observed on 7th April 2017 in the Conference Hall of Community Health Center Bambooflat with the theme “DERESSION : LETS TALK” in a befitting manner. The Function was attended by PRI members, Teachers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Students, Paramedical workers, Doctors and general public. Miss Mariyam Bibi , Member of Zilla Parishad Wimberlygunj was the chief guest on the occasion. The Programme started with presentation of Bouquet to the chief Guest by the CMO In charge of CHC Bambooflat & lamp lighting .At the outset in her welcome address Dr.Varsha Raman, MO, Ayurveda gave a brief introduction on the topic. Dr. Shalani Jeevan, Dental Surgeon, Dr. B Bindu Kumar, MO Homeo also spoke in details on the topic. The Chief Guest also expressed her views.
The Chief Medical Officer In charge Dr. M P Susamma in her key note address detailed on mental health, mental disorders, depression, its causes, prevention and treatment. She also highlighted on alcoholism and drug dependence which is related with depression. About 100 persons attended the function which concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Shri K Subhakar Rao, Multi Purpose Health worker.
