Port Blair, Mar 27: Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands in its endeavour in the direction of Smart Police training and to improve professional skill amongst Police personnel has organized 05 days course on “Soft Skills Training” from 20.03.2017 to 24.03.2017 for in-service Police personnel from the rank of Sub-Inspector to Inspector sponsored by BPR&D. In course, the Officers have been trained for improving their behavioural skills, communication Skills, time management, to develop leadership qualities, to enhance Police Public relations and stress management. The training programme was inaugurated by Smt. Geeta Rani Verma, Principal, PTS. During the training programme faculty members from various departments i.e. Shri Praveen Mohandas, CLS Asstt. Labour welfare Commissioner, Forest Dept, Dr. N. Rajvelu, Associate Prof. & HOD Commerce Deptt., Shri. K. Venkateshan, Asst. Prof. & HOD and Shri. Abdul Salam, Asstt. Professor, JNRM College, Port Blair, Shri Bency George, HOD Psychology and Shri. Sreedharan Guest Faculty, Psychology Deptt. ANCOL, Brahma Kumari’s of Brahma Kumari Centre, Port Blair, Shri. Akash Patel and Shri. Sourabh More from Divine India Youth Association, Shri. T. Sebastin, Rtd. Dy.SP , A&N Police, Smt. S Raji, Lecturer, DBRAIT, Port Blair and well experienced faculty members of A&N Police have delivered informative & impressive lectures. Shri Kishore Kumar, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS concluded the training programme by emphasizing the objective of the course and its implementation. Altogether, 25 Sub-Inspector including Inspectors from various Police stations/Units also participated in the course and interacted and enriched themselves for initiating steps forward towards effective policing by soft skills. The course was coordinated by SI T. Hemavathi & SI Abdul Manaf PTS, Prothrapur under overall supervision of Principal, PTS.
