Port Blair, Mar 27: The Annual Conference of the Non-Gazetted Government Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, will be held on 15th and 16th April, 2017 at Kerala Samajam Hall, Port Blair.
The Conference will be inaugurated by Shri R.N.Parashar, Assistant Secretary, Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers and also Secretary General, National Federation of Postal Employees (NEPE), at 4 p.m. on 15th April, 2017.
Shri.R.N.Parashar is a veteran leader of Central Govt. Employees and his maiden visit is expected to boost employees’ movement in these islands. Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers Association is holding its conference at a crucial juncture when employees are on nation-wide campaign and agitation for settlement of various demands like enhancement of minimum pay, fitment formula and allowances after the implementation of 7th CPC.
The Conference will also review the situation at National and Territorial level after the successful one day National Strike on 16th March, 2017 in which 13 lakh Central Govt. employees participated braving all kinds of repressive measures.
Around 150 delegates and observers from various parts of the islands are expected to attend the delegate session of the Conference on 16th April, 2017.
