Port Blair, Feb 15: In order to observed Swachhta Fortnight (Pakhwadas) from 1st Feb. 2017 to 15th Feb. 2017 under Swachh Bharat Mission, all the Health Centres/facilities (District Hospital, Community Health Centre, Primary Health Centres & Sub Health Centres) of the South Andaman had conducted the awareness drive, cleanliness drive and sustenance drive at their respective jurisdictions.
On the occasion of sustenance drive, Shri. Udit Prakash Rai, Deputy Commissioner (SA)/Chairman, District Health Society, South Andaman visited the PHC/proposed District Hospital Garacharma today (15th Feb. 2017) to monitor the activities under Swachhata Pakhwada and level of cleanliness.
The Deputy Commissioner (SA) along with Dr. M. K. Mahato, Medical Superintendent, DH Garacharma and Shri. B. Nagendra, District Programme Manager, DHS (SA) visited the wards and other units of the Garacharma Hospital and attained the stock of the facilities and its cleanliness.
He appreciated the doctors, paramedical staffs and cleaning staffs for their sincere efforts to keep the hospital premises neat & clean. Further he informed that based on the performance of the facility on the parameters of Hospital/facility, upkeep sanitation and hygiene, waste management, infection control, support services and hygiene, the District Health Society (SA) under Union Territory Health Mission will felicitate the best health centre of South Andaman with the Kayakalp Award through cash reward.
