Port Blair, Feb.15: The Police Training School, Prothrapur organized a two days training programme on ‘First Aid Techniques’ in collaboration with ANIIMS & DHS, A&N Islands on 10 & 11.02.2017 to provide immense help and pre-hospital Trauma Care in case of casualties, under the supervision of Smti. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, Principal, PTS. Topics like, Principles & objectives of First Aid, importance and procedures for Basic Life Support (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-CPR), assistance of sufferers of – cuts, scrapes fracture, snake bit & burns, First Aid for drowning, Electric shock, Dehydration & heart attack victims, medical emergencies-Approach of Police personnel and lifting & moving on multiple casualty or injuries. The course was inaugurated by Shri Kishore Kumar, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS who emphasized the objectives of the course and to make aware about the importance of First Aid Techniques for Police personnel.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Professor, ANIIMS, Port Blair, Dr. Narayan Rajaram, Assistant Professor, ANIIMS and well experienced faculty members from India Reserve Battalion have delivered impressive and informative lectures on various techniques on First Aid with demonstration Altogether, 28 Police personnel from the various Police Stations & units had participated. The course was very effective and valued by all the participants.
