Port Blair, Feb 15: The District Administration from its District Health Society, South Andaman (National Health Mission) under the aegis of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Cooperative Ltd (ANIIDCO) has conducted the awareness programme on “hazards of addiction of Alcohol, Tobacco and Drugs” through the NGO Andaman Sai Seva Samiti at Govt. Secondary School Middle Point & Govt. Senior Secondary School Boys on 10th Feb, 2017, Secondary School Khalsa Public & Kendriya Vidalaya-I on 11th Feb, 2017, Govt. Secondary School Delanipur & Govt Senior Secondary School Haddo (Telegu Medium) on 13th Feb, 2017, Carmel Senior Secondary School, Govt. Secondary School Dairy Farm & Nirmala Senior Secondary School on 14th Feb, 2017, VKV Senior Secondary School and Govt. Senior Secondary School Mohan Pura, Govt. Senior Secondary School Model & Govt. Senior Secondary School Girls on 15th Feb, 2017.
Awareness programme on various aspects of addiction and de-addiction by means of Power Point Presentation has been presented to the students, were informed about the causes of addiction and its hazards to the person (as individual) and to the society as well as Nation (as a whole). Plays (Natak) were also performed in the schools wherein modes of addiction, causes of addiction, peer effect on addiction and various methods of de-addiction were presented and thereafter students are shared their views and gained enormous knowledge about “De-addiction during the interaction session with resource person.
Altogether 130 students of Govt. Secondary School Middle Point, 40 students of Govt. Senior Secondary School Boys, 60 students Secondary School Khalsa Public, 40 students of Kendriya Vidayalaya-I, 60 students of Govt. Secondary School Delanipur, 60 Nos Govt Senior Secondary School Haddo (Telegu Medium), 300 students of Carmel Senior Secondary School, 60 students of Govt. Secondary School Dairy Farm, 300 students of Nirmala Senior Secondary School, 300 students of VKV Senior Secondary School, 150 students of Govt. Senior Secondary School Mohan Pura, 300 students of Govt. Senior Secondary School Model and 290 students of Senior Secondary School Girls, Principal and teachers were present in the programme.
