Port Blair, Feb 06: A team of Food Safety Officials headed by Shri K.K.Paul, Designated Officer, Shri Nagoor Meeran,Food Safety Officer and Shri Abdul Aziz, Food Safety Officer of North & Middle Andaman conducted extensive search operation from 02.02.2017 to 04.02.2017 in the cargo arrived at Mayabunder Port by the vessel ITTP Leopard. General cargos containing in six containers were checked. More than 800 packages were opened and checked thoroughly. 06 Bottles of Tobacco paste were recovered from one trunk owned by Shri Baidyanath Hazra of Billiground. The articles were seized by the Food Safety Officer, Mayabunder, the Case was compounded and Rs. 10,000/- fine was imposed and the seized articles were destroyed.
